Rossendale Triathlon Day 2023

Whilst many in the UK lapped up the sunny weather this weekend, we at Mulderrigs were certainly no exception as we headed down to the Rossendale Triathlon 2023, which took place on Sunday.

The event had a great turn out, with around 150 budding athletes taking on the strenuous running-cycling-swimming event.

In case you hadn’t read our recent blog post about Mulderrigs’ sponsorship of the Rossendale Triathlon, the race was compiled of 3 tough stages, including:

  • A 400m pool swim at Marl Pits Leisure Centre

  • A 21km bike ride including the ‘Crown Point Roller Coaster’

  • A 5km run, finishing at the Marl Pits running track

All those who competed did a fantastic job of tackling this challenging course, hats off to you all!

Paul Mulderrig’s own charity The Rossendale Rays Special Needs Sports Club have done their part in making this tricky course accessible for all. In previous years they have set up inflatable start and finish lines on the course for the kids.

Paul said:

“This year was particularly special because the Triathlon Club teamed up with my own club Rossendale Rays to stage a Special Needs Triathlon of our own. The weather was beautiful and our young members had a fab time. So, I’m hoping it’s the beginning of a new tradition.”

“Mulderrigs have sponsored the Triathlon Club for many years so it has been a real treat to continue the relationship after making the move to Farleys.”

Well done to everyone who took part on Sunday!
