Mulderrigs to Sponsor Picnic in the Park as a Thank You to the Volunteers of Rawtenstall in Bloom 2023

Following Rawtenstall in Bloom’s gold medal in 2022, our local town is once again going for the win, in this year’s National RHS Britain in Bloom 2023 competition, where we will represent the North West of England.

The event has been kindly orchestrated by all the volunteers of the Civic Pride Rossendale group, who have been working non-stop over the year to get our town looking as picturesque as possible.

Last year the group amazed the judges with their beautiful work. The displays started at the railway station and featured a plethora of beautiful community-led displays, spread out throughout Rawtenstall.

These displays included flower beds, decorated shop windows throughout our bustling high-street and pictures drawn by our local children, bursting with bright colours.

Rawtenstall has an amazing spirit of community and this event really brings the best out of us.

Civic Pride Rossendale are made up of volunteers and work tirelessly throughout the year, to keep our town looking so beautiful.

They also work alongside local businesses, schools, churches and youth groups all year, providing opportunity for working as a part of the community.

This work is not just in vain, as sustainability is at the core of their ethos. Working alongside the local people in Rossendale allows them to spread their message and encourage people to act more sustainably by protecting the beautiful nature all around us.

Civic Pride Rossendale make their green foot-print by planting lots of perennial plants which are better for local wildlife. They also plant and maintain a bio-diverse range of plants, all whilst building homes for our little friends, including beehives, birdboxes, bat boxes and bug hotels.

The National Britain in Bloom competition will be judged on Thursday 3rd of August 2023.

As a thank you to all the volunteers who helped out and the local community for getting involved, Civic Pride Rossendale will be hosting a ‘Picnic in the Park’ event at lunch time of the judging day.

The event will have a hog roast and plenty more food and drinks for all attendees. As well as stands from some local sponsors (that’s us) who helped to support this event.

Civic Pride Rossendale do amazing things for our community and we here at Mulderrigs are delighted to be sponsoring the thank you ‘Picnic in the Park’ event, for all the volunteers of Rawtenstall in Bloom 2023.

If you come to visit our office, you may notice the beautiful flower baskets hanging by our door. These are down to the group’s kind volunteer work.

We will have a stand at the picnic at the park event with some goodies, so feel free to come and say hello.

Good luck Rawtenstall!
