Dementia Patient In Hospital Fall – £7750 Settlement

Mr Walsh is an elderly chap with dementia from Derbyshire who lived quite independently in his own home.

He was taken into hospital suffering from an infection.

But the hospital staff didn’t carry out a proper assessment of his care needs.

He was clearly confused by the effects of the infection.

But he was allowed to get out of bed to go to the bathroom unaccompanied and had a nasty fall.

As a result he suffered a serious hip injury.

Mr Walsh’s family were very cross about what had happened.

So they asked us to pursue a claim against the hospital.

Mulderrigs have represented lots of elderly clients in claims against nursing homes and hospitals.

We agreed to take on Mr Walsh’s claim and agreed to act on “no win no fee” terms.

Mr Walsh’s family accepted an offer of £7750 in his behalf in compensation for injuries.
