Chris Oldham from the West Midlands was riding his Yamaha YBR 125 motorcycle near to his home when he had to stop to give way at a roundabout.
The vehicle behind him failed to stop and collided with the back of his bike.
As a result of the accident Chris sustained a fracture to his tibia and fibula (the bones in his lower leg). He needed surgery to insert metalwork to correct the fractures.
The case was initially difficult because Chris was taken off to hospital without being given details of the other driver, and unfortunately the local police were very slow to provide the information we needed.
But once we got the information and contacted the other driver’s insurers they quickly accepted liability for the accident.
There’s no doubt that Chris suffered a serious injury. But luckily he made a pretty good recovery.
We obtained a report from an orthopaedic expert and disclosed it to the insurers along with details of Chris’s other losses.
The claim then settled for £37250.
We have dealt with claims for injured motorcyclists for over thirty years – with settlement ranging from £1000 to £3.5M!
So if you know a biker who might need advice about an accident please put them in touch.
