Mulderrigs recently recovered over £32,000 in compensation for a client who’s previous solicitor told her “you don’t have a case”.
Mrs Mansell tripped over a raised manhole cover on a new housing development in Greater Manchester, which was still being finished off when her daughter moved in.
She suffered a serious injury to her knee and required a total knee replacement.
Her original solicitors advised her that she didn’t have grounds for a claim because the raised manhole was quite visible, and because there were some issues with the insurance cover for the builders.
We didn’t agree with that assessment, and we agreed to take court proceedings in Mrs Mansell’s claim. The insurers agreed to accept 70% responsibility for the accident, and our client was awarded £32,000 in compensation at a trial last month.
