Natalie Samuel from Surrey asked us to deal with her hair damage claim following an error with a hair relaxer product.

She went to a hairdresser for a conditioning treatment to her hair.

But the hairdresser carelessly applied a relaxant product instead.

Natalie’s hair became very dry and brittle and began to snap off so badly that she had to have it cut short.

The Law On Hair Damage Claims

Hairdressers have a legal duty to take care for the safety of their clients when using dangerous hair products.

Mulderrigs have successfully handled hundreds of hair claims, including lots of claims just like Natalie’s involving misuse of relaxant products.

So we took on the claim against the stylist and agreed to act on “no win no fee” terms.

In order to succeed in a hair claim it is always essential to have favourable evidence from an expert (a trichologist).

In Natalie’s case the trichologist prepared a very favourable report confirming that the damage had been caused by the relaxant.

The expert also said it would take over three years for Natalie’s hair to return to normal.

But the hairdresser denied any knowledge of the damage she had done and her insurers refused to negotiate.

So we brought court proceedings against the stylist.

The stylist then agreed to pay £5,800 in compensation for the damage.
