Mrs Hennigan slipped down a flight of steps whilst working in a hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne and suffered back, neck and arm and injuries. The insurers for the hotel denied liability for the accident, but we agreed to take on the case, issued court proceedings for Mrs Hennigan and settled the claim for around £20,000.00. (The name of our client has been changed).
A trip, slip or fall in a supermarket, shop or other public building - The occupiers of the premises have a legal duty to take care for your safety (S.2 Occupiers' Liability Act 1957)
A trip, slip or fall in the street - Local authorities have a legal duty to mantain the roads and pavements in their area (S41 Highways Act 1980).
A trip, slip or fall at work - Your employer has a legal duty to keep all floor areas, stairs, passageways, car parks etc safe and free from hazardous substances (Reg.12 The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) .
If you have been injured in any of these situations you may be entitled to claim compensation. We have over twenty years experience of fighting these cases for our clients. We have recovered millions of pounds in compensation for clients who had tripping, slipping or falling accidents.
Some of our recent cases:-
Mrs Hartson suffered an injury to her arm when she tripped and fell over a concealed step whilst attending a wedding at a hotel in Berks. She initially consulted her local solicitor, who advised her that she had "no claim." Fortunately, a friend recommended Mulderrigs. The Occupiers' Liability Act 1957 imposes a duty on the operators of hotels (and all other buildings open to the public) to take care for the safety of visitors. We were perfectly happy to take on Mrs Hartson's case and recently settled her claim for over £6,000.00.
Mrs Stanford suffered a wrist injury when she fell in a coach station in London. The case was complicated because there was a dispute about who was responsible for the area where our client had fallen. We took on the case and when we issued proceedings the insurers agreed to pay our client £5,000.00 in compensation.

Mrs Halloran is an elderly lady from Rossendale in Lancashire. She tripped and fell on some broken paving stones near her daughter's home. Although she was badly shaken, fortunately she was not too seriously hurt. Even so, we obtained £2000 on her behalf from the local council.
Mrs Frantzen is an American lady who came over to Bolton to visit her pen friend. On the last day of her holiday she fell on an escalator on a shopping centre and suffered serious injuries to her hand. She had to meet large medical bills when she got home to America. Fortunately, she found Mulderrig's details on the internet and working on her behalf we were able to claim more than £40,000 in compensation for her injuries and medical bills. In this particular case, nearly all of the communication between our client and ourselves was conducted by e-mail … no problem!
