A warning about claiming compensation for workplace accidents during the credit crunch
08 October 2009
Massive success against insurers of a collapsed company
Mr Haythorn suffered very severe injuries to his arm when he fell from an unsafe platform whilst working with an angle grinder. His employers then went out of business not long after the accident.
We went to the High Court to get an order which allowed us to continue with the claim against the insurers for the company, and then helped our client recover over £200,000.00 in compensation.
Another succesful case where the employers had gone out of business
Mr Norton was a young electrician who suffered a broken leg in an accident at work after falling from a dangerous ladder.
We agreed to take on the case against the employers, but shortly afterwards the company went out of business.
We obtained an order from the High Court under the Companies Act 1985 (S.651) declaring that the dissolution of the company was void. This enabled us to get on with the claim against the company's insurers, and we helped our client recover £15,000.00 in compensation.
