£27000 compensation for an elderly shopper injured in Tesco
Mrs Breen was a sprightly seventy-five year-old until a very nasty accident in a Tesco store in Greater Manchester last year.
She was shopping with her husband when she slipped on squashed grapes which had fallen on the floor in the fruit section of the store and hadn't been cleared away. Our client suffered a badly broken leg and had a very rough time of things for several months.
The supermarket initially denied responsibility for the accident, but they have a legal duty to take care for the safety of shoppers, and we agreed to take on Mrs Breen's claim.
We issued court proceedings on behalf of our client and we are pleased to report that we have recently settled her claim for over £27,000.

£19,000 for worker injured in farmyard fall
Mr Vincent is a farm worker in South Wales. While he was at work one day last year he was asked to clamber onto a tall stack of hay bales because the stacker truck they normally used wasn't available.
It was a ridiculous way of going about things and our client ended up falling from the stack of bales and suffering serious injuries to his shoulder.
All employers have a duty to take care for the safety of their worker, and there are strict regulations to protect people when they are asked to work at heights.
We were easily able to demonstrate that the employers were in breach of the regulations, and should be held responsible for the accident.
We recently settled his claim for over £19,000.

Victory for a biker who was told he had no case!
Mr Heaton was riding his bike on the A4 in Berkshire and was on a roundabout when a careless motorist failed to give way and drove into his path, leaving our client and his bike on the floor.
Our client's insurance company initially referred him to one of their "panel" solicitors who said "Sorry, but you haven't got a case".
Odd that, because when we agreed to step in we proved that the other driver was to blame and then settled our client's claim for £2,500.00!

Have a safe bonfire event
No doubt there'll be a few quid going up in smoke at the weekend as people celebrate bonfire night with fireworks that seem to get louder and more expensive every year.
It can be a great evening, but for an unlucky few it will undoubtedly end in disaster.
You can make sure you have a safe event by following this straightforward guidance issued by the HSE.
.....And don't spend too much on the fireworks!
