An early settlement for injured cyclist

Mr Marginson suffered an injury to his wrist in July 2009 when he was swiped of his bicycle by an oncoming car that turned right across his path. Luckily, his injuries weren't too serious. We took on the case against the insurers for the driver, quickly obtained an admission of liability and then obtained a medical report in relation to our client's injuries. We recently settled his claim for around £2,300.00. The whole case was done and dusted in around six months. (The name of our client has been changed)

5000 miles and counting for the cycling Minsterman

We mentioned in an earlier newsletter that we are supporting Simon Hood who is cycling to every York City game this season to raise funds for Alzheimer's research. Paul Mulderrig (on the right) caught up with Simon on a beautiful York day last week to talk about his adventures and hand over some sponsored kit. Simon reckons he's covered 5000 miles already, with a few thousand more to go before, hopefully, cheering his team on to a play off win at Wembley in May.

A Meeting in the Strangers' Bar

Our MD, Paul Mulderrig, was lucky enough to visit the Houses of Parliament last month to meet with Rossendale MP, Janet Anderson.

Some of our MP's may have suffered dents to their credibility in recent months, but Westminster retains a real aura as the home of one of the world's oldest & most influential democracies. It's quite an experience to walk through Westminster Hall (where Henry VIII played tennis apparently!) and watch the comings and goings of the famous faces outside the Chambers of the Lords and the Commons.

Janet has been the MP for Rossendale & Darwen for many years, and has always been remarkably supportive whenever any of our clients have needed her help. Only a few months ago Janet lent her assistance to a client of ours who faced a long stay in hospital 200 miles from home after a workplace accident in Kent. The NHS Trust were being very awkward until Janet stepped into the fray and, within a few days our client was transferred to a hospital close to home..... Result!
