Mulderrigs Bike Ride raises £5,000.00 for Rossendale Rays

We're very proud of our long relationship with Rossendale Rays Multi-Ability Swimming Club

The club provide swiming facilities for people of all ages, and with all manner of special needs. You can probably imagine that it costs a few quid to run the club -  between £10-12,000/yr - and the club is entirely self-funded.

We've now organised four consecutive annual bike rides, and raised a total of around £20,000.00 for the club over the four years.

This year twelve riders picked off a 170 mile section of the West Country Way from 13th to 15th May. We crossed Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Malverns before finishing in Bristol.

It's not too late to support our fundraising effort, so  if you feel like donating a penny or two, here's how....

£32,000.00 compensation for an injured biker

Mr Yates was riding home on his bike in West Yorkshire when a car pulled out from a parking space and attempted a u-turn.

Our client was swiped off the bike and suffered injuries to his eye, his knee and his shoulder.

We took on the claim against the careless driver and quickly obtained an admission of liability from the insurers.

We then obtained all the necessary medical evidence and recently helped our client settle his claim for £32,000.00.

£40,000.00 compensation for an injured amateur footballer

Mr Manford was playing in a semi-professional game in Berkshire when he was subjected to a reckless challenge by an opponent and suffered a badly broken leg.

The offending player received a straight red card and was sent off the field. The referee's report said the opposition player was "...guilty of jumping into a two footed foul tackle, endangering his opponent's safety."

As a result of the injury our client was away from his work in the building trade for almost a year, and he had to retire from football altogether.

We dealt with the claim against the insurers for the offending player on "no win no fee" terms.

Despite the clear evidence of what had happened, the insurers refused to admit liability, so we started county court proceedings for our client. As we were approaching the trial the insurers finally caved in and agreed to pay our client £40,000.00 in compensation for his injuries and loss of earnings.

Our client sent us one of the nicest thank you letters we've ever received, and a copy is attached to this newsletter.
